Prince Islands Cittaslow Launch Meeting

Add to calendar:
Be with us at this important launch.

The journey of "Slow City (Cittaslow)" focusing on the sustainable, balanced, and local values of the Islands is starting. The launch organized within this scope aims to bring together representatives from the public, academia, and the industry to create a shared vision for the future of the Islands.

The Slow City (Cittaslow) movement aims to create cities that are more livable, environmentally friendly, and preserve local identity as an alternative to fast urban life. Supporting local production, preserving cultural heritage, sustainable tourism, and improving quality of life form the foundation of this approach.

The Cittaslow process, which began with the inclusion of Seferihisar in Türkiye, has today become a strong local development model implemented in many cities. The participation of the Islands in this network presents an important transformation opportunity for Istanbul.

In the launch program;

  • The infrastructure of the slow city approach and the goals in the Islands
  • Priority projects and vision to be shared by Adalar Mayor Ali Ercan Akpolat
  • Visitor management, transportation planning, and local development steps
  • Urban identity, inclusivity, and the preservation of cultural heritage
  • Sustainability policies and long-term effects

Topics such as these will be addressed.

TDYD – The President of the Tourism and Destination Management Association, Sabriye Kocabalkan, will evaluate the contributions that gastronomy will make to the economy of the Islands within the framework of sustainable tourism in her speech.

The program will continue with networking opportunities throughout the day and a dinner in the evening.

We invite you to the launch to witness the future of the Islands together and to be a part of this transformation. Participation is free, and a shuttle will depart from the Islands pier. If you are considering attending, we kindly ask you to register.
